DESLOGE — Officers have taken three juveniles into custody for 20 vehicle break-ins that occurred a month ago.
Desloge Police Chief James Bullock said the break-ins occurred on the nights of June 3 and June 4. The first night, the break-ins occurred on the west side of the railroad tracks (on the city park side) and the next night, the break-ins occurred on the east side of the tracks.
During the investigation, Patrolman Dan Russell was able to develop information about the people involved in the thefts. Over the last three weeks, he was able to detain and interview all three juvenile males from Bonne Terre. They admitted to their involvement, Bullock said.
Bullock is not sure if the three juveniles are still being held at the juvenile detention center.
He believes all of the vehicles had been left unlocked. He encourages everyone to lock their vehicle doors even if the vehicles are parked in their own driveway.
He said numerous items were taken from vehicles on those days. Items included money, a cell phone charger, a stereo amplifier, cigarettes, medications, an XM radio, and a GPS.
He doesn’t believe any of those items have been recovered.
