DESLOGE — A mother and son squabble over a computer landed four people in jail. Desloge Police Chief James Bullock reported the incident occurred at 1 p.m. on May 14 at a residence on South Desloge Drive.
“The mother and son were arguing over a computer,” Bullock said. “The argument escalated into a pushing and shoving match.”
Bullock said when police arrived the son, described as a juvenile, was placed under arrest.
“His girlfriend then tried to interfere with the arrest, so she was placed under arrest,” Bullock said. “The mother then verbally interfered, so she was arrested.”
Bullock said the girlfriend’s father then showed up at the scene. He said the father was arrested for disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest.
When the officer first arrived on the scene he radioed that he was involved in an altercation with several subjects. Radio contact was lost with the officer after that point because of the altercation. The distress call caused numerous police officers from several neighboring departments to respond to the scene.
Bullock said additional police officers from the Desloge Police Department responded along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Leadwood Police Department, the Leadington Police Department, the Park Hills Police Department, the Bonne Terre Police Department and the investigator from the prosecuting attorney’s office.
“When Central Dispatch couldn’t get into contact with the officer every one that was nearby responded to assist him,” Bullock said.
The mother is described as a 36-year-old Desloge woman. The girlfriend is described as a 19-year-old Desloge woman and the girlfriend’s father is a 54-year-old Bonne Terre man.
